Although GastroMaison is not a licensed business we are very happy to offer the very best advice on some specific choices of wine to suit our menus for your special occasion.

We have a partnership with Peter Watts Wines of Coggeshall, a renowned and highly specialist local wine merchant. Peter has worked closely with us to pick the finest wine accompaniment to suit our dishes as well as some recommendations for Champagne or Sparkling wines should they be desired.

A separate payment to Peter Watts for your occasion's wine will be required with payment of your deposit which can be shipped directly to you home

Menu 1

Vouvray Demi Sec 2005, Cuvee Tradition, Domaine de la Galiniere £12.95
Traditionally made, lots of complex fruit flavours producing a lovely medium dry white wine from Chenin grapes

Hautes Cotes de Beaune blanc 2007, Domaine Mazilly £13.90
A small estate making a buttery, lightly cask aged, full, white Burgundy perfect with tuna

I Croppi 2007 Albana di Romagna, Emilia Romagna, Italy £9.95
A rich golden coloured dry white wine hints of spices in a powerful and complex palate

Quinta do Valdoeiro Reserva 2005, Bairrada, Portugal £14.75
An outstanding Portuguese wine from a prestigious estate; full-bodied, deep ruby red,
aromas of black fruit, matured in oak casks, goes with beef beautifully.

Sancerre Rosé 2007, Domaine Legros, Loire, France £15.95
Made from Pinot Noir grapes this great dry rose from Jean Louis Legros's fine domaine is in a fresh,
long-tasting style - great with salmon.
Marsanne Reserve 2002, Tahbilk Estate, Victoria, Australia £13.95
Tahbilk is the largest producer of the classic white Marsanne grape in Australia. The wine is full,
dry and mellow with the extra dimension of fermenting and ageing in casks.

Torrent Bay Pinot Gris 2008, Nelson, New Zealand £10.50
An aromatic off-dry white wine with a touch of spice and honey.

Rully 2007, Domaine Milan, Burgundy, France £14.90
The Milan family makes this medium-bodied red Burgundy in a full fruit style with minimum use of casks
- ideal with poultry dishes.

Gewurztraminer Reserve 2007, Domaine Fernand Engel, Alsace, France £13.25
Typically full and spicy off-dry white wine ideal with a fruit starter.

Château Vieux Bonneau 2005, Montagne Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, France £14.50
A delicious claret made mainly with Merlot and aged a year in casks , a perfect accompaniment to roasted Lamb.


Menu 6

Greco 2008, villa Schinosa, Puglia, Italy £13.90
Greco is one of Italy's most excellent indigenous white grapes. Dry and full of flavour really suits this pasta course.

Vina Hermosa Crianza 2006, Rioja, Spain £11.95
This Bodega is rapidly establishing a fine reputation for its red wines. Vanilla overtones from 18 months in casks. Will
go with duck beautifully.
